性质描述: 白色针状或棱形结晶,从乙醇中结晶的吡唑是无色针状晶体,有似吡啶的臭味和刺激性苦味,能溶于水、醇、醚和苯。当环上碳原子有取代基时,沸点和熔点升高;当氮原子上有取代基时,其化合物的沸点和熔点就降低。易发生氯化、溴化、碘化、烷基化、酰化反应。熔点69.5~70℃,沸点187~188℃(101kPa),折射率1.4203。。

吡唑最重要的衍生物是5-吡唑酮。其衍生物氨基比林(又名匹拉米董)是一个古老的退热药,因它对粘膜和皮肤有刺激性,一些国家现已停止生产。4位上未被取代(见取代反应)的吡唑酮与重氮盐偶联,得到的偶氮化合物是一大类偶氮染料。
